Dark Skies Stargazing in Northumberland Dark Sky Park
Experience the incredible starry skies above Northumberland with a team of astronomers from Go Stargazing at the comfortable, welcoming and awesome stargazing location of the Twice Brewed Inn!
Located within the protected dark sky park the venue benefits from minimal light pollution. You’ll be able to view the Milky Way arching across the sky and see thousands more stars than what can normally be seen from our towns and cities. What’s more our events have been timed especially to coincide when there will be no bright Moon to spoil the view.
You’ll enjoy an inspiring presentation on an astronomically themed topic, ideally suited for beginners and novices, before heading outdoors for a laser guided tour of the constellations then observing incredibly distant objects including planets, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters using large aperture telescopes. You’re welcome to bring along your own telescope along for expert help! Our team is always prepared for in case the weather is poor, and have fun, interactive sessions ready for indoor learning. Of course, whenever there is a gap in the clouds, we will get you outside straightaway.
Before your stargazing experience you might choose to have a hearty meal in the restaurant. Why not make a weekend of it exploring the dark skies by night and the nearby Vindolanda Roman Fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and the world famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall by day? The Twice Brewed Inn are offering fantastic deals and discounts for those wanting to get away for a stargazing break!
This stargazing event really does have it all! A great dark sky location at the best time to stargaze with friendly astronomers, big telescopes, amazing food (and beer!) and a nearby comfy bed, Stargazing at The Twice brewed is something that everyone, no matter their age or level of experience, can thoroughly enjoy…
The Go Stargazing team share a common enthusiasm of astronomy and an eagerness to excite and inspire anyone interested in learning about the Universe we live in. The team comprises enthusiastic and friendly amateur astronomers most of whom are former volunteers at Kielder Observatory and also includes several Academics and Instrument Scientists. We communicate our passion and knowledge in a way that is accessible to all, regardless of age or experience, and always prioritise the practical side of astronomy using telescopes and stargazing!
